Chinese Yoga (Tao-Yin)

The Tao Y’in floor postures are exercises that relax, open up and heal the body. Learning Chinese Yoga exercises help strengthen the psoas muscle; loosen the lumbar spine; restore full natural breath; release tension, pain, toxins; awaken healing energy in the Dan Tien – the deep inner sea of life force energy. Learn to sculpt a lean, flexible, agile body, fine tune your senses and supercharge your immune system. Clear and focus your mind; remember the essential connection of mind, body, spirit.
Tao Y’in exercises help your internal life force or Qi (Chi), to circulate more freely, for the purpose of refreshing, attuning, adjusting and regenerating your personal energy. The Tao Y’in movements are based on ancient spiritual development. Through the gradual process of Taoist Chi cultivation, the physical energy of the body is transformed into spiritual energy. Tao Y’in means energy directing.
An important aspect of Tao Y’in is that it has alternating phases of activity and relaxation. During the relaxation phase you will learn to feel and gently guide the (Qi) Chi flow to specific areas of your body. You will learn to absorb the nutrition from the air and the surrounding energy so you can open each cell to the fresh vitality of the universal force. This practice will help you relieve any energy stagnation.
Tao Y’in Yoga can raise your vibration and greatly increase your resistance to stress so you can experience more vitality, achieve inner peace, know joyful aliveness like a child! The end of class will include some sitting or standing meditation to collect the energy generated during Tao Y’in Yoga. Tao Y’in exercises are an ancient precursor of qigong (chi kung) and are practiced for health and spiritual cultivation. They are an excellent preparation for t’ai chi, and other standing qigong practices. The main reason to practice Tao Y’in is for the pleasure of it.
